    <dct:description>&lt;p&gt;Background: Family planning is central to gender equality and women&amp;rsquo;s empowerment and it is&lt;br&gt; a key factor in reducing poverty.Long acting family planning methods provide uninterrupted&lt;br&gt; protection to women for 3 to12 years and by far the most effective and very safe. It is divided&lt;br&gt; into intra uterine contraceptive devices and implants; when it was removed, return to fertility is&lt;br&gt; prompt.&lt;br&gt; Objective: The objective of this study was to assess utilization of long acting family planning&lt;br&gt; methods and associated factors among married reproductive age women in Silti District, Silte&lt;br&gt; Zone, SNNPR, Ethiopia, 2017.&lt;br&gt; Methods: A community based cross-sectional studysupplemented by qualitative focus group&lt;br&gt; discussion was conducted by multi stage sampling technique with sample size of 528. Study&lt;br&gt; subjects selected by systematic random sampling for quantitative data and purposive sampling&lt;br&gt; procedure for qualitative data.The data was enteredusing EPI INFO version 3.1and analysis was&lt;br&gt; done by using SPSS version 22. Coding, entry and statistical analysis were done. Strength of&lt;br&gt; association was measured using odds ratio and 95% CI. Statistical significance was declared at p&lt;br&gt; value &amp;lt;0.05. Table and charts was used to present result.&lt;/p&gt;</dct:description>
