"abstract": "<p>Background: Family planning is central to gender equality and women’s empowerment and it is<br>\na key factor in reducing poverty.Long acting family planning methods provide uninterrupted<br>\nprotection to women for 3 to12 years and by far the most effective and very safe. It is divided<br>\ninto intra uterine contraceptive devices and implants; when it was removed, return to fertility is<br>\nprompt.<br>\nObjective: The objective of this study was to assess utilization of long acting family planning<br>\nmethods and associated factors among married reproductive age women in Silti District, Silte<br>\nZone, SNNPR, Ethiopia, 2017.<br>\nMethods: A community based cross-sectional studysupplemented by qualitative focus group<br>\ndiscussion was conducted by multi stage sampling technique with sample size of 528. Study<br>\nsubjects selected by systematic random sampling for quantitative data and purposive sampling<br>\nprocedure for qualitative data.The data was enteredusing EPI INFO version 3.1and analysis was<br>\ndone by using SPSS version 22. Coding, entry and statistical analysis were done. Strength of<br>\nassociation was measured using odds ratio and 95% CI. Statistical significance was declared at p<br>\nvalue <0.05. Table and charts was used to present result.</p>",
