    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&lt;p&gt;The purpose of this study was to determine the effects plyometric training on physical fitness&lt;br&gt;
components of Selam hospital u-17 male football project players at Dilla town. The study&lt;br&gt;
design was quasi experimental. The population of the study were selam hospital U-17 male&lt;br&gt;
project players whose total number were twenty five (N=25). Because of the little number of&lt;br&gt;
study populations, all project players were taken as a sample by using census sampling&lt;br&gt;
technique. And by using simple random method trainees were selected as an experimental&lt;br&gt;
group (N=13) and a control group (N=12). The experimental group (EG) had eight-week low&lt;br&gt;
to moderate plyometric training, twice per week additional to their regular training session(in&lt;br&gt;
total five sessions per week) and the control group (CG) were participated only their regular&lt;br&gt;
football training three sessions per week. The data was collected by field tests for speed, agility&lt;br&gt;
and power (30-m sprint test, T-agility test and Vertical Jump test). The data analysis was done&lt;br&gt;
by using Paired sample t-test and independent t-test using SPSS version 20 with significance&lt;br&gt;
level of 0.05. Based on the analyzed data, the pre intervention and post intervention test&lt;br&gt;
performance of experimetal group were significantly improved their speed 0.26(5.59%)sec&lt;br&gt;
agility, 2.25(15.83%), and vertical jump(power) 8.47cm (19.02%). So, all alternative&lt;br&gt;
hypothesis (H1) are accepted. As aresult, the study shown that eight weeks of plyometric&lt;br&gt;
training improved the skill related fitness components (speed, agility and power) Dilla selam&lt;br&gt;
hospital of u-17 male football project. Finally the study recommended that coaches, players&lt;br&gt;
and football managements should give attention to plyometric training in delivering with other&lt;br&gt;
forms of football training to enhance players&amp;rsquo; skill and performance.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
