<description descriptionType="Abstract"><p>Small construction contractors are vital for provision of infrastructures in Addis Ababa.<br>
The study is inspired by common low growth or business failures witnessed among this<br>
class of business. The main objective of the study is to examine growth challenges facing<br>
small construction contractors in Addis Ababa. Data were collected from both primary<br>
and secondary sources. The main instrument of data collection was the questionnaire and<br>
supported by interview. Questionnaires were dispatched to random samples of small<br>
construction contractors in Addis Ababa. Accordingly, 120 completed questionnaires<br>
were returned. Data was then analyzed by using descriptive statistics and factor analysis.<br>
The result revealed that small construction contractors have relatively heavy proportion<br>
and participation in basic infrastructure development which are essential for economic<br>
growth of the city. The study revealed thirteen major growth challenges associated with<br>
small construction contractors</p></description>
