<dct:description>
Pilates is a conscious approach in exercise, stimulating awareness of body structure, muscle
recruitment, and body movement. The purpose of present study was to investigate“Effect of
Pilates training on fasting blood glucose,blood pressure and resting heart rate of high school
teachers in Boditi secondary school ”. The study employed experimental research design. To
achieve the purpose of the study, twenty eight male teachers take part and had assigned
randomly in to two equal groups. Both EG (n=14) and CG (14). The experimental group taken
eight week Pilates training. Both groups had taken pre and posttest and all subjects participated
in physiological variable test: fasting blood glucose was measured by using glucometer, blood
pressure by using sphygmomanometer and finally resting heart rate by radial pulse
measurement. The data collected from the study subjects was analyzed using SPSS version-25
software by paired t-test with the level of significant 0.05 while cohesive d> 0.8 was used to
consider practical significance. The results showed Pilates training has significantly improved
on fasting blood glucose, blood pressure and resting heart rate in EG (P<0.05). Therefore,
Pilates training have an improvement on BG, BP and RHR.
</dct:description>
