"description": "
Introduction: Construction industry has a unique nature and considered as a
\ndangerous industry. Due to its characteristics, the promotion of safety management
\nand maintaining safe work environment is difficult and inadequate. Cost of injury and
\naccident incurred is higher in developing country like Ethiopia. Promoting and
\nmaintaining safety culture is a new way of decreasing workplace accidents and
\ncreating conducive environment in construction sector.
\nObjective: to assess the level of safety culture and factors associated with it in X
\nConstruction Company, Ethiopia, 2014.
\nMethods: An Institutional based cross-sectional study was conducted. The sample
\nsize of the study was 422 in X construction workers with a response rate of 95%.
\nThe data was collected by using interview administered NOSACQ-50 questionnaire
\nand review of records of accident report, OHS company documents and walk
\nthrough survey using workplace observation checklist to support the Questionnaire.
\nThe score of mean above 2.5 was considered as good safety culture and below the
\nmean as poor safety culture; as well the level of safety culture of the company was
\nindicated using mean score. Both Bivariate and multivariate logistic regression
\nanalysis were used to determine the degree of association by using odds ratio with
\n95% CI. ANOVA was also used to calculate the mean differences of X construction
\ncompany sites
",
