Effect of Compensation Practice on Professional Employee: in Case of MaddaWalabu University

The research is aimed to investigating the impact of compensation and benefit on employee turnover in Madda Walabu University. In implementing this, the study was conducted using, document analysis and questionnaires. Both primary and secondary sources of data were used. The data was collected from both academic and administrative staff of Madda Walabu University. Thus, from a total of 3091 populations of the academic and administrative staff of the Madda Walabu University, 354 samples were selected using, stratified and simple random sampling techniques .Questionnaires were used as a primary data collection tools. the data obtained from the respondents were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. For the quantitative data analysis Descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage), and Inferential Statistics (Chi square, and Binary Logistic Regressions) were used. SPSS software package was used for the analysis. The analysis results indicates that (, Career growth opportunity, supervisor support, salary, benefit Current education, Marital Status, experience) have significant effect on employee turnover in Madda Walabu University

at significant level of (α = 05.0 ).Thus, the researcher mainly recommended for the University

to develop a retention strategy that mixes the financial and non-financial compensation practices to create conducive working environment and to retain their experienced and top talented employees and reduce turnover gradually. 2
