THE EFFECT OF LEADERSHIP STYLES ON EMPLOYEES JOB SATISFACTION: THE CASE OF SELECTED FIVE MUNICIPALITY IN PUBLIC ORGANIZATION NORTH SHEWA TOWNS

This study sought to examine the effect of leadership styles on employee job satisfaction in the case of Municipalities. Leadership Styles was examined in relation to employee job satisfaction for the reason that it has influence the employees to be satisfied and public center. The researcher has taken 158 employee for survey questionnaire and only 150 participants returned the questionnaire and used for the study. Of the Municipalities. A quantitative study, using self-administered structured questionnaires, was employed using a simple random sampling technique to select participants working in the Municipalities office. The collected data were analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS 22) and other applicable statistical tests with view to know the effect of the different leadership styles on the level of employees’ job satisfaction. Although there was a positive relationship among the different types of leadership styles and employee job satisfaction, the findings from this study revealed that transformational leadership style has the medium influence on the employees’ job satisfaction and the most preferred type of leadership by the existing staffs. The study also transactional leadership behavior was the most dominant one being observed at Municipalities N/SH/Z & SZ. Practical implications and limitations have also been discussed in the research. Multiple regression studies have shown that significant and positive correlation transformational and Lassies fair style. Transactional leadership has a p value of 0.112, which indicates that it has insignificant effect on job satisfaction because p>0.05. Based on the findings, valuable recommendations relevant to Municipalities are forwarded to improve the leadership styles and to increase employee job satisfaction.
