    <subfield code="a">&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;The aim of the study was to identified causes and effects of delay in construction&lt;/em&gt; &lt;em&gt;completion projects in Salale University and to study the relationship between specific causes on specific effects. Also, this study take an integrated approach to learn the impact of specific causes on specific effects in construction projects in Salale university context. A construction project is commonly considered to be successful, when it was completed on time, within budget and in accordance with the specifications. Very few construction projects in major cities in Salale University get delivered within time and within cost. A questionnaire survey leads us to obtain the causes and effects of delay from clients, consultants, labor, material and contractors and respondents participate in the survey. Questionnaires was used to collected primary data from the target population. It had both a Likert scale and open ended items. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive data analysis techniques along with the relative importance and inferential statistics were used to test the internal consistency of each variables. The finding of the study showed that the causes of delays emanated from clients, consultants, labor, material and contractors. Regarding to the effects of delay, time overrun cost overrun, total abandonment, dispute, litigation, poor project quality, negotiation and bad public relation are confirmed. Based on the findings, the study recommends clients the so called &lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;Salale university business and construction project bureau&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; to revise their project management system, improve financial management system and need to ensure regular project monitoring and evaluation. In addition the study also recommends corrupted individuals should be identified and accountable legally.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</subfield>
