The same is true for Ethiopia in which the production of energy is very low but the usage of it is so high. Energy audit is the first step in improving the efficiency of usage of energy. But the energy audit by its own is not enough since it does not give an idea on the maximum work potential of a system. Therefore, an exergy analysis is becoming mandatory.<br> In this thesis, energy and exergy analysis was done with conservation measures for the Ethiopia pulp and paper industries with a case study on the Ethiopian pulp and paper share company. The detail working principle for the industries has been discussed. The energy and exergy analysis are mainly focused on the drying section of the factory which is the most energy consuming compared to other unit operations.<br> The drying section consists mainly of the boiler and the Drums for drying of paper. It is found that, Ethiopian Pulp and Paper Share Company uses 3876.097kwh of energy to produce ton of product which it very high compared to the bench mark (1550kwh/ ton). The boiler analysis was done and also different losses have been investigated. The energy analysis based on the first law efficiency and exergy analysis based on second law of thermodynamics with the Exergoeconomics has been done. The Drums which are used to dry the paper has been investigated on the basis of energy and exergy analysis. The total energy loss from the Drums is 59.84kw. The maximum work which is the reversible one and actual work has been studied on each Drum. The exergy destruction and second law efficiency for each Drum has been investigated.</p></dct:description> <dct:accessRights rdf:resource="http://publications.europa.eu/resource/authority/access-right/PUBLIC"/> <dct:accessRights> <dct:RightsStatement rdf:about="info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess"> <rdfs:label>Open Access</rdfs:label> </dct:RightsStatement> </dct:accessRights> <dcat:distribution> <dcat:Distribution> <dct:rights> <dct:RightsStatement rdf:about="http://www.opendefinition.org/licenses/cc-by"> <rdfs:label>Creative Commons Attribution</rdfs:label> </dct:RightsStatement> </dct:rights> <dcat:accessURL rdf:resource="https://doi.org/10.20372/nadre:5428"/> </dcat:Distribution> </dcat:distribution> <dcat:distribution> <dcat:Distribution> <dcat:accessURL rdf:resource="https://doi.org/10.20372/nadre:5428"/> <dcat:byteSize>647925</dcat:byteSize> <dcat:downloadURL rdf:resource="https://nadre.ethernet.edu.et/record/5428/files/f1042664640.pdf"/> <dcat:mediaType>application/pdf</dcat:mediaType> </dcat:Distribution> </dcat:distribution> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
