Medical equipment in<br> particular are crucial in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illness and disease, as well<br> as patient rehabilitation. The objective of this study is to analyse the medical equipment supply<br> chain management of public hospitals under Addis Ababa Regional Health Bureau. Both<br> quantitative and qualitative approaches are used in an explanatory and descriptive research<br> design. A total of 339 samples were taken from 2231 population. Across sectional data was<br> collected using Simple random sampling and purposive sampling methods for quantitative and<br> qualitative data collection respectively. Structured questionnaires and open ended interview<br> questions are used as a tool for data collection. The data were analysed using both descriptive<br> and inferential statistical tools. Moreover, the result was described using mean, frequency and<br> standard deviation, and the researcher was also applied parametric statistical test<br> (correlations, and regression analysis (Simple, multiple)) to interpret and analyze the data,<br> using Statistical Package for Social Science version 21.The findings showed that the efficiency<br> of medical equipment supply chain management in public hospitals is found to be strongly<br> affected by the procurement, inventory, transportation and warehouse management practices.<br> Majority of respondents disagree for having good procurement, inventory, transportation and<br> warehouse management in public hospitals under Addis Ababa Regional Health Bureau. From<br> the overall findings we can conclude that medical equipment supply chain management<br> practices of public hospitals under Addis Ababa Regional Health Bureau is inefficient which<br> will contribute for not giving quality health service. This is mainly due to poor practices in the<br> procurement, inventory, transportation and warehouse management. From the findings of the<br> study 44.5 percent of the variance in efficiency of medical equipment supply chain was<br> explained by the variance of explanatory variables, while the rest 55.5 percent was contributed<br> by other factors that were not included in the model.</p></dct:description> <dct:accessRights rdf:resource="http://publications.europa.eu/resource/authority/access-right/PUBLIC"/> <dct:accessRights> <dct:RightsStatement rdf:about="info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess"> <rdfs:label>Open Access</rdfs:label> </dct:RightsStatement> </dct:accessRights> <dcat:distribution> <dcat:Distribution> <dct:rights> <dct:RightsStatement rdf:about="http://www.opendefinition.org/licenses/cc-by"> <rdfs:label>Creative Commons Attribution</rdfs:label> </dct:RightsStatement> </dct:rights> <dcat:accessURL rdf:resource="https://doi.org/10.20372/nadre:5352"/> </dcat:Distribution> </dcat:distribution> <dcat:distribution> <dcat:Distribution> <dcat:accessURL rdf:resource="https://doi.org/10.20372/nadre:5352"/> <dcat:byteSize>647925</dcat:byteSize> <dcat:downloadURL rdf:resource="https://nadre.ethernet.edu.et/record/5352/files/f1042664640.pdf"/> <dcat:mediaType>application/pdf</dcat:mediaType> </dcat:Distribution> </dcat:distribution> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF>
