This work is conducted to investigate groundwater resource potential in upper Gilo catchment by applying Hydrogeological investigations and quality analyses. Primary and secondary data were collected from field and office to prepare Hydrogeological and geological map of upper Gilo basin. Based on the qualitative analyses from geological map and quantitative data from springs and boreholes found in different rock unit, the study area is classified into highly productive fracture aquifers, moderate productive fracture aquifers and low productive fracture aquifers. From hydro-meteorological analyses, upper Gilo catchment get 1765mm/yr mean annual rainfall with 20.7 OC mean annual temperatures, 962.4mm/yr annual potential evapotranspiration, 775.8mm/yr actual evapotranspiration and 386mm/yr annual recharge. Water quality analyses result revealed that HCO3 is the dominant ion in water taken from both boreholes and springs found in the study area. Water in the catchment is mainly Ca-Mg-HCO3. Alkaline earth has dominance over alkalis and weak acid anion has dominance over strong acid anion</dc:description> <dc:identifier>https://zenodo.org/record/5080</dc:identifier> <dc:identifier>10.20372/nadre:5080</dc:identifier> <dc:identifier>oai:zenodo.org:5080</dc:identifier> <dc:relation>doi:10.20372/nadre:5079</dc:relation> <dc:relation>url:https://nadre.ethernet.edu.et/communities/aastu</dc:relation> <dc:relation>url:https://nadre.ethernet.edu.et/communities/zenodo</dc:relation> <dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights> <dc:rights>http://www.opendefinition.org/licenses/cc-by</dc:rights> <dc:title>HYDROGEOLOGICAL INVESTIGATION OF UPPER GILO CATCHMENT SOUTH WESTERN ETHIOPIA</dc:title> <dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesis</dc:type> <dc:type>publication-thesis</dc:type> </oai_dc:dc>
