With its market demand expands and increased application areas, products of wood plastic composite (WPC) have been developing and growing rapidly in many countries over the last decades. There are a lot of studies on WPCs in which most of them are not focused on the effect of wood species on the performance of wood-plastic composites (WPCs). This paper attempt to investigate the effect of wood species which are waste from furniture industries on the performance of wood-plastic composites (WPCs). 30wt% of Cordia Africana’s /wanza’s/ and 30wt% Austria pine’s wood species fine sawdust separately used with 70wt% of pure high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in two samples and the mixture of both species sawdust in 15wt% of each in another sample were used to prepare the samples and studied the performance of the resulted composites.
