<dct:description><p>Improper management of waste steel scrubs from steel industry highly affect the environmental and damage caused by improper management of waste steel scrubs (steel fibers) increased over the past years creating a relevant problem to been solved. The study intent to examine the mechanical properties of Steel fiber reinforced concrete using fiber produced from waste steel scrubs from steel industry. The experimental test was done for cube, small beam, cylinder concrete which containing steel scrubs of different volume fraction 0.5%, 0.75%, 1% 1.25% 1.5% by adding admixture. As laboratory test result showed all mechanical properties&rsquo; improved for 28 days when compare with 7 days of curing. The result obtained from test depending on volume fraction for the compressive strength increased by 16.85% when 0.5% , 23.39% ,30.18% ,35.64% for 0.75% , 1% and 1.25% and 42.95 for 1.5% when compare with plain concrete. Finding for flexural strength show that it increased by 17.65% for 0.5% fiber volume and 22.55%, 27.21% , 32.6%, 41.91% respectively for 0.75%, 1% 1.25% and 1.5% .The last finding for splitting tensile strength improved by 18.88% for 0.5% and 25.17%, 45.10%, 61.53% 76.92 % respectively for 0.75%,1%,1.25% , 1.5% when compare with plain concrete. A waste scrubs having same geometrical characteristics was use in the mixtures at different percentages have good bond performance.
