  "abstract": "<p>Abstract The purpose of the study was to investigate principals&rsquo; decision making practices and teacher&rsquo;s job commitment in secondary schools concurrent mixed research design was employed. Using purposive and simple random sampling techniques, ten secondary schools 248 teachers, and ten school principals were included. Two survey instruments principal decision making question and one-teacher job commitment questionnaire self-made with semi- structured interview were used to collect data, which was entered into SPSS version 24. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analysis data. The finding of the study showed that the decision made by principal were not based on gathering data, analysis data, logical evaluation of alternative which yield positive result , in addition to this , principia&rsquo;s were not involve key stock holders of the school in decision making process(m=2.75,SD;0.70). As result decision made at secondary schools were lack, evidence based fact and the implementation of the decision were not supported by the whole community of the schools. Regard teachers commitment to school, profession and change was at moderate level (M: 3.14 SD: 0.25). this implies that teachers were not have extreme level of commitment to formal task indicate that, there were positive direct relationship between principal decision making and teachers job commitment(R: 0.538, p: 0.00) It implies when effective of principal decision making process made , directly affect the commitment of teachers in secondary school from the data one concluded that most principals in the study area have skill gap in give decision making process as result teachers job commitment were at low level.
