The main purpose of the study was to compare the level of job satisfaction and identify the major factors influencing teachers’ job satisfaction in both school types. A mixed research approach was employed. Quantitative data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to teacher respondents, while qualitative data were gathered through document analysis to support and triangulate the quantitative findings. A descriptive and comparative research design was used for the study. The findings indicated that there are differences in teachers’ job satisfaction between private and public secondary schools. Factors such as salary and benefits, professional development opportunities, working environment, supervision, workload, recognition, and job security were found to significantly influence teachers’ job satisfaction. The results of the inferential analysis further showed that the independent variables collectively explain a substantial variation in teachers’ job satisfaction. The study concludes that improving working conditions, strengthening professional development opportunities, and enhancing fair compensation systems are essential to increase teachers’ job satisfaction in both private and public secondary schools. Based on the findings, recommendations were made for school administrators, education officials, and policymakers to improve teachers’ working conditions and overall satisfaction.
