    <dct:description>&lt;p&gt;Transportation is at the nucleus of logistics as it characterizes the physical movement of materials between points in a supply chain. This study examined the effect of outsourcing transport system on food supply chain effectiveness of Catholic Relief Services Dire Dawa Primary Distribution Point. Moreover, it aimed to investigate the level of effect coordination, flexibility, competency, access and inconsistent have on food supply chain effectiveness of Catholic Relief Services Dire Dawa Primary Distribution Point. Explanatory and descriptive research design was adopted for this study and the population was 453 employees of the surveyed organization&amp;rsquo;s sites and 212 self-administered questionnaires were returned properly that was used to collect primary data. The study attained 81 % of response rate and stratified sampling technique was embraced, with a structured questionnaire and interview checklist for data collection. Validity and Reliability of research instruments tests were conducted. Descriptive statistics was computed to describe the characteristics of the variables in the study while correlation and multiple regression analysis were used to establish the nature of the relationships between the independent and dependent variables. Thus, the findings revealed that coordination, flexibility, competency, and access have a positive and significant effect on food supply chain effectiveness but not inconsistency. Thus, this study concluded that outsourcing transport system has an effect on food supply chain effectiveness. This study suggests that it needs to increase efficiencies in the management of the humanitarian organizations without raising costs to the end customer.&lt;/p&gt;</dct:description>
