"description": "<p>Job satisfaction has considered as the main determinants of employees’ commitment. Highly satisfied workers will be more committed to the organization. Therefore, the general objective of the study was to examine the effect of job satisfaction on the employees’ commitment in the case of selected public institution of Dire Dawa Administration. To achieve its objectives, the researcher employed a descriptive and explanatory research designs and quantitative research approach via a cross-sectional survey inquiry. 274 employees were selected out of 874 employees of sample institution. Both the primary and secondary data gathering tools were used; both Descriptive and binary logistic regression were used as data analysis tools. Based on mean rank coworker, promotion, pay, policy and procedure and work related factors are respectively ranked as most important factor affecting employees commitment. The employees have commitment to the organization mainly due to the continuance aspect of the commitment like to avoid consequence of quitting the job coupled by the lack of other better alternatives. The T-statistics and the P-value (P<0.05) revealed that the mean score of job satisfaction antecedents show that almost in all aspect women are more satisfied than their male counterpart in the study areas. The mean score across all demographic factors indicate the employees in the study areas have moderate level of commitment. The result of one way ANOVA also confirm the mean difference of commitment is statistically significant across age, education level and salary level. The binary regression result also confirms age, salary supervisor, and fringe benefit, sense of pride, space and facility as major determinants of employee’s commitment. Overall the result also imply the need to enhance employees commitment of the public organization in the study areas through improving the current status of pay, promotion career development, reward and incentive system ,fringe benefit supervision, involvement, engagement with co worker, work environment(temperature , respect and recognition ).</p>",
