    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&lt;p&gt;Sewage sludge (SS) is a by-product of wastewater treatment plants that remains after municipal wastewater treatment process. Attention has been given toward recycling of organic waste as an alternative to chemical fertilizers and to promote environmentally sound waste disposal. Sewage sludge (SS) is widely used in agriculture in several countries around the world. However, scholars&amp;rsquo; research shows as the impact of successive applications of evaluated SS on soil and its risks on environment are neglected when compared with its benefit for agricultural use. The objective of this study is to investigate the quality of sewage sludge and to evaluate its suitability for agricultural use. To do this, dried sludge samples was collected from madda walabu university treatment and was summited to laboratory for investigation of its quality to use as alternative fertilizer to reduce budget require for chemical fertilizers for madda walabu farm area as well as to supply for surrounding community with low cost. To determine the quality of sewage sludge, physiochemical parameter such as pH, electrical conductivity, nutrients (exchangeable Na, ex.K,&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://ex.ca/"&gt;ex.Ca&lt;/a&gt;,&amp;nbsp;and ex.Mg), cation exchange capacity (CEC), available phosphorous, available potassium, organic carbon, organic matter, total nitrogen, CaCO3, and micronutrients (Fe, Mn,Cu,Zn) was done by using laboratory analysis. From the study result of physiochemical parameter; sewage sludge had high fertilizing values for essential macronutrients, micronutrients and organic matter which can be used as soil conditioner and alternative fertilizer. But researchers want to recommend a continues monitoring on the effect of using sludge on soil and crop.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
