&lt;p&gt;Construction projects require a coordinated effort by all teams involved for effective project safety management. In Ethiopia, most construction projects fail to be completed within the specified and induced safety. As a result, the expected services are excessively missed to provide the intended purposes. This practice needs to improve to manage projects in effective and efficient manner. This research focuses on the assessment of problem and challenges of safety planning implementation in building construction. This research focuses on Different Public building projects in Nekemte Town, I was studied to assess problems and challenges of project safety Practices as well as identifying the factors affecting, impacts and improvement parameters based on research&amp;rsquo;s&amp;rsquo; suggestion. The study was carried out through questionnaires and interviews. Relative important index analysis RII analysis method was adopted for data analysis. The results indicate Lack of guidance for safe development has been ranked as the first problem and challenges of safety practice preparation with RII of 0.85. If the guidance to develop safety Practice at initial stage to provide safety, accurate and updated project safety Practices very important to achieve project goal with in a safety, using unrealistic Protective Measurement for effort and Safety has been ranked on the second with RII 0.84. Project Safety and effort estimating is an activity that occurs throughout the life of a project and to arrange the realistic Safety and efforts using information from various sources, such as historical data/past similar projects, safe activities, resource requirements and availability, etc. to compile as accurate an arrange as possible with the information available at the safety of the arrange, Inadequately defined scope in the beginning has been ranked on the third with RII 0.83. This study is focused on assessment of problem and challenges of safety Practice on building projects in Nekemte Town and it also identifies the factor affects safety planning, major impacts and how to improve those problems and challenges. The recommendation of the output is that: Create procedures, guidelines and strategies prior to develop project safety Practice for specific project at organization level and enhance the efficiency of safe preparation, performance evaluation is the recommendation based on outcome.
