In order to investigate, the Effect performance appraisal practices on employee’s job satisfaction in south region, the researcher used both a qualitative and quantitative research (mixed research approach) with descriptive and explanatory type of research design. A stratified random sampling technique was used to select 178 employees from each branches of Ethio-telecom in south region. The study used questionnaires as its data collection instrument qualitatively and quantitatively. Currently in Ethio Tele com in south region most of employees are satisfied by the performance appraisal practice. They complain bias of the raters, lack of continuous communication, lack of trust in the supervisor, lack of clear performance expectations. Regression analysis and correlations were used to analyze the data. The study revealed that trainer’s knowledge, level of communication, clarity, and fairness has statistically significant effects and positive relationships with job satisfaction at 5% level of significance. The result sows that clarity of performance appraisal practice more influence on job satisfaction in the study area.
