"abstract": "
The purpose of this study is to investigate the attitudes toward mathematics of grade ten students’ in Bale Zones. To achieve this a descriptive survey design was employed. The data were collected using Fenna Sherman (1976) mathematics attitude scale. It was administered on a sample of 337 students selected from grade ten. Then the data collected was coded and subjected to a Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) for analysis. Accordingly, it was found that the nature of grade ten students’ attitude toward mathematics is neutral, this is neither positive nor negative attitude. Generally in this study not only males have higher mean scores (3.25) of students’ attitude toward mathematics than females (3.14), also there was statistically significant difference (t(335) = 2.549,p < .05) between male and female students. Thus, it was recommended that to decrease the problem it is important the parents and teachers should support their students in order to improve their attitude towards mathematics and give awareness to the society on the use of mathematics with real life 4
\n
",
