    <dct:description>&lt;p&gt;The study was developed with the aim of to understand the rural household energy consumption patterns. The objectives of the study were to identify the major source of energy consumption, to assess the availability of alternative energy consumption patterns and to identify the socioeconomic factor affecting the modern methods of energy consumption in study area. To achieve the objectives of the research survey was depend on primary and secondary data collection. For this research 324 samples of household individuals were selected using simple random sampling techniques from the three districts which were purposely selected. In general, 324 householders, 9 better performing farmers, 7 DA, 5 health extension workers, 3 District Agricultural office experts on technology transfer were included. The study used both questionnaire and interview to collect the necessary data. Both qualitative and quantities data were collected from primary and secondary data sources. Data were analysis by SPSS version 22 software to analyze regression model test and descriptive statics. The major finding shows that biomass source of energy are found out that the main source of energy consumption in the study area used for cooking food and baking injera while kerosene and electricity are the main source of energy used for the purpose of lighting by households. Lack of awareness to use other alternative energies and lack of access for other sources have been the major factors for under usage modern sources of energy. Based on the finding concluded that the consequences of uses of traditional energy consumption leads forest degradation, deforestation, and lands degradation prevailing severe environmental problems. To overcome these, rural development planners should be encouraged the rural households to use modern method energy consumption saving devises and also it could to reduce burden on fire wood dung, moreover different strategies should plan to introduce and disseminate alternative technologies via demonstrations, posters, and radio or TV advertisements is vital 5&lt;br&gt; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</dct:description>
