    <dct:description>&lt;p&gt;Abstract&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Monitoring and evaluation is an essential tool of public management that is used to evaluate performances of public projects. The purpose of this study was to assess the practices of Monitoring and Evaluation of Public projects in Hasassa Town. The study has employed both descriptive and Explanatory research design and collected data from 159 individuals which were Randomly selected from Hasassa town leaders and employees; departments concerned with M&amp;amp;E, M&amp;amp;E technical Committees, members of project committees, project contractors and managers and communities. The research used primary and secondary sources of data. Questionnaires and key informant interviews were used to collect data from the respondents. Descriptive and Inferential analysis was used to analyze tha data. Descriptive findings shows moderate stakeholder participation; inadequate top management support, the way M&amp;amp;E information was disseminated not inclusive; poor M&amp;amp;E strategy used when it was compared with existing M&amp;amp;E practices. Inferential analysis also indicates that M&amp;amp;E practice have positive and significant relationship with M&amp;amp;E strategy, management support, stakeholder participation, and dissemination of M&amp;amp;E reports. It was therefore recommended that M&amp;amp;E strategy used, stakeholder participation; top management support for projects M&amp;amp;E; the way M&amp;amp;E information was communicated and disseminated to concerned bodies should be improved so that there would be better projects M&amp;amp;E practices in Hasassa town. 7&lt;/p&gt;</dct:description>
