<dct:description><p>Water is the most valuable natural resource for sustainable development and quality life. The main objective of the study was to assess the demand and supply of domestic water consumption in Robe town In order to achieve the objective of the study, data were collected from sample respondents. The sample respondents were selected systematically based on the list of their housing units. For this study three kebeles of Robe town (Chafe Donsa,Baha Biftu and Oda Robe)were included. Then data were collected from 388 sampled households with the help of questionnaire and interview. The collected data were analyzed with the help of quantitative and qualitative techniques. The result of the study indicated that in Robe town drinking water present through interval day. Out of the total sample households 48% strongly disagree regarding the presence of water internally. This shows that provision of dirking water by interval is not accepted by HHs of Robe town. Water is scarce resource in Robe that needs conservation. The findings of the study also indicate that currently the service providers are perceived by the Robe town HHs to be offering unsatisfactory as Robe town water demand is affected by water supply system at all. Thus, it is recommended that Robe town water office should design future water supply strategy based on demand orientation, i.e., self-selection of the service type by customers rather than past trends and population figures; mobilize resources required to bridge the financial problem. This may include organizing donor&rsquo;s conference, meetings with individual donors and introducing water supply development program at meetings of the general public to solve the existing challenges.<br> 3</p></dct:description>
