ABSTRACT
This study was designed to examine the effect of human resource development practices on economic profitability of CBE under Woldia district selected branches. The methodologies used to undertake the study were both primary and secondary data collection instrument. The sampling techniques employed to collect primary information were both probability and non probability (random and convenient) sampling .The sample of population were 6 branches under Woldia district. These branches were selected based on their grade level, number and experience of employees. Accordingly the data gathered was analyzed using SPSS version 25 software. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics whereby frequencies and percentages, generated from the various data categories were computed and presented in graphs, pie charts and tables. Data were collected and analyzed by using a multiple regression model. The findings revealed that training and development, career development, performance appraisal, talent management, and organizational learning tend to play a significant role in economic profitability. Finally CBE should work hard in implementing HRD practices in order to be economically profitable.
