The purpose of this thesis is to explore and analyze the role of private sector in the concept of CSR from Ethiopian perspective to form a starting point for further research. The aim is also to identify how Private companies and organizations in Ethiopia understanding their role and part in accomplishment of corporate social responsibility, and to find out what the learning PLCs involvements are. The data for the study has been distributed and collected through a field study in Akaki Kality sub city PLCs, including personal interviews and discussions with a number of companies and organizations. The questionnaires and interviews were conducted through a field study in Akaki Kality sub city, for companies‘ executives and questionnaires for general managers, financial and HR mangers too. Generally, the findings of this study show that CSR as idea is fresh in Ethiopia especially in the participation of private organization. The study employs both quantitative and qualitative methods to collect data from the sampled private organizations in the sub city are used, is applicable and descriptive statistical approach also is adopted for the study. In addition, the investigation is identifying the major findings of the research in the selected area, like extreme market oriented economic understanding, lack of awareness about social interest, integrating framework, less government role and absence of sustainable relationship
